I know I'm a week and a day late but we were driving on her actual Birthday to California and the days prior to that I was trying to pack and shop to prepare for our trip (more on the trip later).
Back to Kendra. On April 3rd she turned 9, this past year has flown by and she has been very excited to turn 9 because that is when she could get her ear's pierced, so we did get that done for her the day before her Birthday.
I remember the day she was born like it was yesterday and thought since I haven't written about her actual birth day that I would post it, if for nothing else but for her to have in the future after my brain it totally gone and I forget it.
I had a lot going on that day. Deidra was a school, and Tiffany needed to go to gymnastics's and I had some shopping I had to get done, it didn't matter to me that I had been having contractions all morning long, I was busy and needed to get my stuff done so I just did what needed to be done. After Deidra got home from school I talked to my friend Heidi and she said we need to go for a walk to keep my contractions going, so I agreed and we set off to walk the neighborhood. I remember seeing two of my neighbor's outside and they asked me what I was doing and about died when I told them. After about half an hour Heidi said she was going to watch my kids while I went an got checked at the hospital (my contractions at this point were about 5 minutes apart). So I came home and called Mike to tell him my plan and drove to the hospital and by this time I'm feeling a lot of pain (I think the walking was easier then the sitting). So I got the the hospital and they checked me and told me I was at a 6 and I was staying. So I called Mike and told him to get to the hospital ASAP (and he did :)) I also called Heidi to tell her Mike would be there later to get the girls. Keep in mind I headed to the hospital about 3:30 and living near a small hospital has it's perks as there was only one other lady there having a baby so I got right in. Mike got there between 4:15 and 4:30 and we had Kendra. It really was that fast, she wanted out, all 6 lbs of her. The girls were so excited to have a baby sister and couldn't wait to hold and kiss her.
She has been a joy since I knew I was pregnant with her. I felt her kick really early on and she hasn't stopped dancing since.
We love Kendra so much and are very proud to be her parents.

I still remember coming to the hospital to visit you and meet sweet little Kendra. I can't believe she is 9 years old already!! Love you both!!
