SpRiNg BrEaK 2011

In our school district we were lucky to have a full week off for Spring Break, so we left this lovely weather for....

Sunny San Diego (well for the first 2 night's at least). We rented a condo overlooking "Petco Park" home of the San Diego Padres. This is a view off of our balcony. Cool right.

And this is a view from a "commons" balcony a few floors up, it's a sweet spot to sit and watch a game, there's fire pit's, couches a bar to sit up at along the whole balcony, bbq grills, AMAZING!

The next morning we headed off to LegoLand. We have never been before and Tyler is really into Lego's so we knew this was a must.

Some people have the best jobs in the world, look at what they get to play with all day long and create fun things for the rest of us to enjoy.

They also have some fun rides at LegoLand. Tyler really wanted to go on this, but he was too short so I went with him and Tiff went with Kendra. Little did I know that those lovely people who chose not to go on this ride had the option of hitting the rest of us with water bombs, I tried really hard to stay away from the water hitting us, but Tyler loved it and steered us right into the bombs. I can thank my darling oldest child for setting off the bombs when we went by :)

She made sure she got all of us wet.

If LegoLand had nothing else but this store, Tyler would have been just fine, he was in heaven walking around trying to figure out what new Lego to buy.

This ride is crazy, they had 4 levels that you could choose. All the kids wanted to ride this which works out fine for us the 2 older kids can go with the 2 younger kids. Well again poor Tyler was too short and Kendra couldn't take out her earring's so they wouldn't let her ride (she had just had her ear's pierced 2 day's before and no way in heck was I letting her take them out for a ride)

So Deidra and Tiffany went on it and loved it, they went with level 4 which is the craziest of all, they were all over the place, I don't know how anyone could walk off this thing and not feel sick.

They have a building where the kids could build a car out of Lego's then race it down the track. That was pretty entertaining. I loved how all 4 cars were so different.

This ride was awesome. The kids got to drive these cute little car's on street's they had created to look like real city streets.

The street's came complete with kids and animals running around.

Hot dog vendor's.

Business men and women walking to and from work.
The kids also had instruction to follow all street signs and light's and by all mean's don't run into anyone. Basically keep it safe.

We apparently have one child who doesn't follow the law of driving and found it quite funny to run head on into her sister. We are really going to have to watch Kendra when she gets her license. She even asked us if she could run into Tiff and right after us telling her no, she did it anyway. It was so funny, everyone sitting around us thought so too, none of us could stop laughing.

When they got off, we had to call in security!

The people at LegoLand are extremely smart, When you have your kids in line waiting with you to get on a ride, they get bored, not at LegoLand, they have table's set up (usually under some shade) and they can play Lego's till you get closer to the beginning of the line. It's awesome, you have easy access to them if they need you and you can keep your eye on them at all time's. Brilliant I tell ya!
See the concentration in his eye's, he loves to build with any and all Lego's.

Cute Lego dude.

Tyler would love a job building Lego's like this. It's truly amazing to walk around that park and see the hours upon hours that people have put in for our enjoyment.

After a fun filled day we headed over to Old Town San Diego and ate dinner at our favorite Mexican restaurant Cafe Coyote .
We had herd about the Mormon Battalion and wanted to check it out, it is a must see for anyone.

Tyler and Kendra were asked to be soldiers, they were all dressed up and held some guns that were bigger then they are. They looked cute and had such a fun time doing it.

Here they are "panning for gold" with the cute Sister Missionaries.

One morning we headed into LA mainly to the American Girl store. Tiffany and Kendra's dolls both had problems with there eyes that needed to be fixed. It was so cool, they were able to put the dolls in hospital gowns and they were sent off to the hospital for a short 2 1/2 week stay and were sent back to us all fixed.

The store was awesome, Kendra and I loved it, we could have stayed for hours.
They had all sorts of rooms like in the photo below with different girls and outfit's you could choose from to buy.
We also headed off to Long Beach that afternoon, but it was freezing, not really any good photos came from that adventure. Although I would love to vacation there sometime.

The rest of the week we were spending at Disney Land.
Kendra loves Princess' (Cinderella is her favorite) so we headed into the Princess show where all the girls could go down and learn to curtsy and dance like a real Princess, then had some Princess come out and do a little skit, it was cute.

While on vacation the kids all get a certain amount of money to spend and buy the souvenir's of their choice. Tyler found the coolest place on earth in Downtown Disney. It's called
Ridemakerz basically you go in and pick out the body of the car you want, then the tires and decide if you want it to be a remote or not, then go build it.
He choose a cute little red sports car and added big monster truck tires and the remote.
This is the beginning of his build.

This is after he is finished, he loves this car and was so proud to have built it himself. Watching his face light up and show people (complete strangers) what he had made was priceless.

How fun would this job be, a "Toy Story Solider".

Tyler and Kendra were rookie soldiers.

Well this was fun, I'm not a fan of heights but I thought I could take a little adventure, it's not like it was spinning me around or anything. So I climb up the rope thing and I'm crossing the "bridge" that wiggles and it's kinda freaking me out a little, the people in my party thought it was funny to jump across it as to make it wiggle even more, then my shoe falls off and I have to bend to get it because it landed on the tarp right below, and I can't get back up. Apparently the same people in my party thought that taking a photo of me under stress was better then helping me get up. Luckily I got back up all on my own, and made it down safely, not sure I will venture up there again with those people :)

Pooh bear's honey pots.

Cute Goofy.

I had Goofy all to myself while the kids were on a ride.

My strong little man.

M I C K E Y M O U S E, love him!

The Dumbo ride, I can't believe they still have this ride and that the line is so long to get on it, too funny.

Mike actually did come with us. I feel bad he is always behind the camera.

Chip and Dale, they are clowns!

Lightning and Mater, very cool cars.

We had a great vacation. I'm so thankful we were able to make such great memories.
