what to do, what to do.

Today the kids were off school for teacher quality work day (go figure I thought it was quality when the kids were there learning). So I wanted to take the kids and do something fun. I thought about a movie, but the only one we wanted to see Mike wanted to see with us. So I had to come up with something new to do. So we headed out to lunch at one of my favorite's Dairy Ann in Layton. Then we needed to do some birthday shopping for Mike's birthday on Wednesday so we headed to Hobby Lobby (OK I love this store, so much to look at and enjoy if there weren't multiple screaming kids. Not my mind you, just other customers kids). So anyway since we didn't get to go to the movies I told the kids they could have $4.00 each to get what ever they wanted. Big spender huh. But they love this kinda thing, especially the younger ones. And boy did they shop. When the can get things for under $1.00 life if great. So here are a couple things Kendra got and has already colored. This is one of the things Tyler got, he just hasn't colored it yet. I remember having one of these as a little girl and hitting my eye with the ball, not a good memory.

This is one thing Deidra got, he's very cute isn't he. She's been wanting a frog for the longest time, a real frog that is. Sorry sista this is the closest you'll come to having a frog in our house.
Remember these. Jack's were cool when I was young. I was never good at it, but Tiff got these and loves them.
And Tiff also got this stuff. Floam, good thing it was on clearance cuz I would never pay full price or even sale price for this stuff. It is so messy, it feels really cool but oh the mess.

So there you have it, this is what we do when the teacher's are having a quality work day. We are having a quality family day (minus Mike, we love and missed ya honey). Hope everyone had a great day.

Sounds like a great day! I love cheap fun things to entertain the kids. I just went to Hobby Lobby a couple of weeks ago for the first time - LOVED IT. I need to go back - when I don't have kids and when I have more time. I'm sure I could keep myself busy for hours in there!!

I love giving my kids a couple of dollars and letting them go wild with whatever they can find. We like the dollar store! Whenever we go into Hobby Lobby, my kids always complain! "Oh, not there again. Mom will take forever..." I love it though.
