Summer Vacation

WARNING; LOTS OF PICTURES
For our summer trip this year we decided to take a trip to Idaho. We rented a brand new house in Ashton Idaho, dumpy town, nice house! We left on Thursday morning. When we got to the house of course Mike had spots already mapped out as to where he wanted to take us. We ended up about 30 miles from "the rental" to check out Mesa falls. We all enjoy waterfalls so we were very excited to see this. There was a lower fall and a higher falls area, this is the higher falls. This is the lower falls.Yep pretty close. It was so pretty. And so much greenery all around.
On Friday we headed up to Yellowstone. I had been as a kid (as per my mom) but have no memory of it. When we first got into the park the drive seemed great, but that didn't last long. There seemed to be some sort of hold up. And it was these guys. People just pull over the minute they see anything and then everyone else has to pull over to see what the first guy sees, kinda funny!

Of course there was another traffic jam. I made Mike get out to investigate, the lady that parked ahead of us told me there was a GRIZZLY, i'm thinking ya right. So I get out and all I can see are these guys, it was interesting because there were so many people right by them and they were good with that. In the mean time Mike had gone up the road and sure enough he saw a Bear, it was a distance off so he couldn't get a good picture of it, but these guys sure knew there was a bear around.
They headed toward me and others standing around, they wanted to be far enough away from the bear before they crossed the river and headed further downstream. They were cute!
This is one of the "hot pools" It's very pretty, it seems their is no end to the inside of this hole. There were tons of these pools every where, they are simply amazing.Old Faithful.Yep pretty much this close to alot of these big brown blobs.

Another beautiful waterfall.

You could get a closer look and here is the top of this monster. This photo doesn't do it justice. It was hugh and ragging. But oh so pretty.
And this is where it goes, Awesome!
On Saturday we headed into Jackson, Wy. Had to get this photo, Mike laughed that it looks like I have a kid coming out of my head.

Do you recognize this famous barn. It's on Mormon row along with some other very old, but very cool barns.
Back in Jackson we did some shopping. And then we were able to see and old time western shoot out. This is the "Sheriff".

One of the bad guys.

Imagine how ticked off these two were when they found out it was a Western shoot out and not a Bon Jovi concert, don't ya love the hair!
A random family photo in some wheat field. Sorry Mr. Farmer guy, we tried not to step on too much!
Some extremely tall trees.
A touring car, we didn't do this but apparently you can pay to have this car take you on a tour. So there you have it in a nutshell. We had a great time on our vacation. I love being able to take our kids to do things like this and make great memories together.

Awesome! What fun pictures! Looks like you had a BLAST! Funny...my friend Lori was in Yellowstone this weekend as well and also commented on the traffic jams and the bear. What do you want to bet that you guys were in the same line-up of cars!

We head out next Wednesday for Yellowstone - must be the thing to do this year. We had to postpone it from June because of all the rain.

And yes I do get to search for the elusive penny per doctors orders - they need to make sure it comes out. I don't think this is what I had in mind when I signed on to be a Mom.....

I love the pictures. All of them were amazing. For some reason, I really like the trees picture. So cool to look up and see how tall and massive they are. What a fun vacation.
