4th of July weekend.

Can I just say we LOVE July 4th and we love the town we live in for all the little things they do around the holidays. On July 3rd they always have a children's parade where the kids get to decorate their bikes/scooters/big wheels what ever they want and they ride thru a cute old neighborhood to our founders park where there is all sorts of things going on like bounce toys, food and booths to buy stuff at.
Here are the 3 youngest and Mike our photographer on the path to the park. Did I mention this is a "children's parade" therefor you will not find Deidra doing this, she was just fine with it because I took her shopping instead. Riding your bike's on a very hot day/shopping it's all the same right! They got these cute hat's to add to their look, but boy did they leave a lot of glitter in their hair.
Tyler giving Officer Lister a high five, below.
After the kids finish their parade they get "pace" bars from Dairy Ann. After the parade we head up to Mike's parents every year to watch the fireworks. We can see them being set off at the golf course just below their home. It's great fun. Then Saturday morning it's up bright and early for the parade. This year I got a little creative with Kendra's hair so sorry I had to add 2 pictures because it was so cute. This year Mike also thought it would be great fun to "tie dye" our shirts. Well checking on the Internet that didn't look like to much fun, so we found this other stuff that you basically spray paint on. It was so fun to have the kids come up with their own designs.
We didn't all of us in a family photo so that will have to come later.
See super cute huh! It's little fireworks in her hair.

This is the closest we got to a photo of Deidra's shirt. She did a red star type thing in the middle then blue all around, it was very cool.
We have been sitting with our good friends at the parade for the last couple of years, we all have so much fun.

Here's Tyler's shirt. He wanted a big red "U" on his, then he wanted a "Y" with a line thru it. Well Mike got as close to the "U" as he could and we bagged the "Y". He's so cute. Tiff got creative with doing opposites.

We then went home and hung out for a bit, then headed up to our Aunt LuAnn's and Uncle David's house (Mike's mom's sister's) They have a wonderful family and we love hanging out with them.
The older kids got to go on a scavenger hunt. Which the 3 youngest of the group Deidra, Tiffany and McKenna were the only one's who kinda did that, they headed to Artic Circle for a treat, then off to the dollar store for shopping. The other older kids went and played the Wii. But they all had fun. We didn't get any photos of them together (weird I know). The younger kids got to play in the water.
This is Tyler and Porter playing in the pool. I think we all decided that they could be trouble, Tyler would come up with a plan then Porter would follow thru with what needed to be done. They got busted once or twice, it was funny.
I didn't have my brain with me that day and didn't take the kids swim suits (Tyler didn't care) but Kendra got a little tired of being in shorts and a shirt soaking wet. So Julie was sweet and let her wear one of her daughter's dresses so we could dry her clothes, she was so cute to just hang out with the adults or the babies. Sorry this is the only picture of her because I didn't think to grab the camera and our regular camera man was umm on assignment (ha ha sleeping) when she got wet. Someone came up with the idea to jump thru the hoops onto the slip-n-slide. Tyler didn't care what he did, he just had so much fun.

Thanks for a great day everyone, we love you!
