We knew she was going and knew we needed to find a dress, but we have such busy schedules that finding time to shop was hard. But we went, Mike was out of town and I had all 4 kids with me, whatever works, right?! We had to bribe Tyler to join us as he was missing scouts and not too happy to be looking at so many dresses, but in the end, he was quite the helper. After trying on a few at a couple different stores, I showed her a picture of my friend's daughter's dress to see if she would like it, then I sent my friend a text to see if it was even an option to borrow it. It was and we made arraignments to meet up a couple days later, that was all it took; she fell in love with this dress, the color, the look, everything.
So we set about adding the sequin sleeves, pinning up the bottom as it was a bit long, and adding a piece to the corset back, and we had ourselves a dress :)
The date actually started on Friday at about 4. They went mini golfing and to the batting cages up at Cherry Hill, then off to do some ice blocking (for those not aware of what that it, they get the big blocks of ice from the grocery store, head to a hill, put a towel on the ice so they can sit on it, then slide down the hill). After that, they went to Dairy Ann for dinner and off to Brandon's for a movie; which worked out great for us because we still had hair, nails and last minute dress touch ups before she could even think about getting ready.
Deidra's date Brayden came to pick her up at 5:45, and since the last dance they went to was girls choice and she had to pick him up, this is the first time we got to do the whole photo shoot with the corsage and boutonniere.

They ate dinner at the Mandarin then headed off to the dance. After that they went back to Brayden's for more food and watched a show.
Mike, Tiffany, and I all waited up for her, we couldn't wait to hear all about it.
She had a wonderful time, actually 'm pretty sure they all did!

So much fun to see the pictures! Diedra looks absolutely gorgeous! Good heavens, isn't it crazy our kids are going to prom? I suppose I could actually have TWO going to prom next year. Can you imagine the craziness?? hahaha!
So cute! I think it's funny that Diedra chose to wear flat shoes!! My girls have always wanted heels, but they make them taller than their dates ;-)
