On Thursday the 19th of August. The kids woke up and we told them Mike was taking a few days off work and asked what they wanted to do. Someone said lunch, someone said Lagoon, we herd swimming and who knows what else.
So we told them to go pack their bags and we can make at least some of this happen.
They about fell off their chair's when we told them we were heading to St. George, we love surprising them.
One day we headed into Zion's park. We love to go and see the beauty the park has to offer. It's amazing every time we go.

A tender moment between Tyler and I.
Awesome background right!
So it was a bit hot when we were up in Zion's. So when we left we grabbed some dinner at In-n-Out, and headed to the splash park.

Tyler dove right in, he even asked if he could just get naked because we didn't have our swim suit's, "UMM No dude, no need to get naked"
This place is so cool, I wish we had one at a park near our home.
Kendra also jumped on the idea of getting soaked.
We had no towel's, so we had to make do with what we had in the truck, then headed over to Nelson's frozen custard! Cuz were cool like that.
One day we swam, all day. Actually the 3 younger kids swam and Deidra and I mostly laid out.
We did have to get in to cool down a few time's, it felt wonderful.

OK, so who knew there was a "ghost town" right outside of St. George? We didn't until this trip. So we had to go check it out. It was in Silver Reef. I don't remember what town you drive though but it's really not far.
They have some old building's and some very old partial building's. This is where the photo of Deidra (above) and 3 of the below photo's were taken. It pretty cool to see and wonder what went on there back in the day. (Can you tell we like finding new backgrounds to take photo's by).
There are actually some modern (and very large) home's that have been built around all these older building's. It was nice a quite, I'm sure they have snake's and we saw some wild bunnies hopping around.
Aww, cute!
Our awesome family!
They have these cool old rail road car's, this one actually said Turquoise.
This was our last day in St. George. We headed to the lower part of Zion's which is just on the drive home and took this photo. We've actually taken a family photo here several time's.
We always love our family trip's down to St. George. Can't wait for the next time.

What a fun little get away. Great picture of Tyler and you. I love Zions, it's so pretty.
It's awesome that you surprise your kids with fun things like that... I always let them know WAY in advance so I can threaten them for weeks to be good. Not the best parenting approach, I'm sure :-)
That looks so fun...and what a great surprise for your kids! Great pics too...i love the one of you and mike - you need to frame that!
