Minnesota.......

Today in Tiff's 5th grade class they had a "State Fair". This is where each child gets to pick one of the 50 states and make posters, brochures, and floats. Tiffany had chosen Minnesota purely for the fact that one of their state foods is a Blueberry muffin and the drink is Milk, 2 things which she loves.

We were able to get on-line and order some pamphlets from the state. Then we were lucky enough to know someone who lives in Minnesota and she was so thoughtful and went shopping for us at one of those "tourist" shops and picked up some fun stuff. The rest we were able to get at local shops and made them work. This is the poster she had to make showing things about Minnesota.

Thanks to our Aunt Sherry. Tiffany made this cool pop-up book. More of the pop-up. I think she loves this page due to the fact it was showing the Mall of America. A mall the girls and I would love to go to. And the cool poster in the back is actually one of the State stamps.

This is her float, she had a key chain that is Minnesota's license plate with her name on it, she had a "walleye", the state fish. A very cool Minnesota passport that also shows many different things about the state. A mini State flag. A duck the "Common Loon" which is their State bird. And a Minnesota magnet. We also cooked some Blueberry muffins for her to hand out.

All in all it was great. She had a good time putting everything together and finding out about Minnesota. We would love to visit one day (just to go to the mall, hehe) But I don't think we could live there. One winter the temp got down to 60 below, that's a major turn off for me right there.
